  • Sewerby Winter Wonderland, 5th to 23rd December, Sewerby Hall and Gardens 

Any opportunity to wander the gorgeously landscaped grounds of this much-admired Georgian country house is always a welcome one. 

But this hugely popular annual Winter Wonderland event is not just “any” opportunity. It may, instead, be the opportunity of the year, given the spectacular light and sound display that is set to grace the estate.

  • Christmas Fair, 7th December, Bridlington Spa 

If you’ve got this far into December without completing your festive shopping, don’t worry, as this fabulous fair will come to the rescue! 40 unique traders are set to be present at this event, running from 10 am until 3 pm at Bridlington Spa, with all manner of gifts and decorations available to buy. 

Throughout the day, the Bridlington Spa café next to the main hall will be serving delicious food. The younger ones will be kept stimulated too, with free children’s activities taking place! As well as visits from Donald Duck and Minnie Mouse. 

Meanwhile, the fabulous Coastal Voices will be on hand to perform, and there will be tombola and raffles too. While the fair itself will be free entry, all money raised will be used to purchase and deliver gifts to people facing Christmas alone, whether at home or ina  hospital. 

  • An Evening with Sir Geoff Hurst, 12th December, Bridlington Spa 

Few names are as synonymous with English sporting glory as that of Sir Geoff Hurst. The England footballing legend was the first man to score a hat-trick in a World Cup final, and remains the only one to have done so for the winning team (France’s Kylian Mbappé having fallen agonisingly short of claiming the trophy himself in 2022). 

As for England’s 1966 final triumph, Sir Geoff is the last living player from that winning team. This underscores the once-in-a-lifetime experience that the octogenarian’s appearance at Bridlington Spa will be for football fans.
