It can be easy, however, to lose track of what those events are. So, we have provided a roundup below of key events that Bridlington locals and visitors can look forward to during 2026.
Early 2026: Cosy Vibes and Indoor Entertainment
Winter in Bridlington brings nippy temperatures, crisp sea air, and a quieter feel. It’s a great time of year, then, to enjoy the town’s indoor gems. The iconic Bridlington Spa on South Marine Drive is the go-to local venue for comedy, music, and theatre all year round.
You might be tempted, for instance, by former footballer Paul Merson’s Laid Bare! show on 6th February, when he will share stories and anecdotes from his life so far. Or what about the nostalgic ‘60s tribute Twist and Shout on 12th February, or the Chuckl. Bridlington comedy night on the 28th? The latter will be headlined by the award-winning Russell Kane.
Spring 2026: Time For That Festival Vibe
Noel Gallagher has described This Feeling as “the best club in the UK for future rock and roll stars”, and you can find evidence of that in Bridlington this spring.
Over Friday 17th and Saturday 18th April, Bridlington Spa will host This Feeling by the Sea 2026. This festival celebrates the indie-rock scene of the 2020s, with performers set to take to the stage this year including the likes of The Lilacs, The Clause, and The Bracknall.
Summer 2026: Peak Season Highlights
Inevitably, many of the most enthralling Bridlington upcoming events are scheduled for the summer. This is a time of year when the East Riding of Yorkshire resort truly shines. As temperatures sail into past the 20-degree C mark over June to August, the beaches buzz and major festivals draw crowds from across the UK.
When we say “festivals”, they aren’t necessarily what you might expect! The weekend of Saturday 16th and Sunday 17th May, for instance, will see the return of Bridlington Kite Festival. This free, family-friendly event sees kites in every shape, size, and colour take to the sky above Bridlington Bay. Expect amazing displays, as well as food vendors and fairground rides.
Looking back to Bridlington Spa, this year will also mark the 18th edition of the town’s Northern and Motown Soul Weekender. Making use of six rooms under one roof, this event will allow easy movement for those who wish to immerse themselves in rare soul music. It all happens across 26th, 27th, and 28th June.
We can also expect, in July, the return of Bridlington Pride. Details of this year’s celebration of the town’s LGBTQI+ community weren’t definitively confirmed at the time of writing. So, we urge you to keep an eye on www.bridlingtonpride.org.uk and social media.
Autumn 2026: It’s Very Much About Vintage and Heritage
As the year downshifts, the highlights are set to keep coming in Bridlington. The Race the Waves event, for example, is revving up for its return from Friday 11th to Sunday 13th September. It’s an opportunity to watch vintage vehicles and motorbikes hurtle along South Beach in “drag races” over a 200-mile course marked in the fresh tidal sand.
Finally, several of Bridlington’s historic sites are set to open their doors for free tours and hidden history talks for Heritage Open Days 2026. It all happens from 11th to 20th September.
